Teaching a Second Language at the European Schools / Primary Level

Language learning is an integrated process where competences in listening, speaking, reading, writing, and the resultant interactions are developed through holistic language experiences which evolve in a spiral fashion as pupils progress through the primary years. 

The assessment process documents the language learning progress of the individual child and is an integral part of the learning process. The learning process and the gradual development of the language skills of each langauge learner is understood as a continuum.
