Unser Standort Altwilten

Since the Autumn of 2023, Altwilten Primary School has been part of the Accredited European School of Tyrol, making it the first AES in Austria. The concept of European Schools has been around since 1957 and is well-established in a number of European countries.

The AES Tyrol offers three language sections: the English and German language sections at VS Saggen and the Italian language section at VS Altwilten, where Italian is spoken and learned as the first language and is accompanied by German on a daily basis.

Every day, the children experience Italian and German as natural languages of instruction and benefit from the language skills and diverse backgrounds of the other children.

The AES school career begins at primary level and continues through to the Baccalauréat, the European-wide recognized high school diploma that children obtain at the age of 18 and which opens many doors for them. Throughout their school career, students acquire a wide range of linguistic and cultural knowledge that accompanies them throughout their school years and far beyond.
